Provenance
The aerial maps included in this collection documented landholding patterns on the Crow reservation from the 1930s to 1990s. The maps show changes in ownership and to the physical environment over this time span. Prior to their arrival at the Little Big Horn College Archives, they resided at the Bureau of Indian Affairs office in Crow Agency, Montana.
Arrangement Note
To facilitate access to the collection, the archivist made the decision on arrangement in consultation with several knowledgeable community members to complete the collection’s processing as follows. A researcher will need to know the township, range, and section of the reservation they wish to view. There is a guide to assist researchers located with the collection. Once a location is established, they can trace the historical evolution of a tract of land chronologically.
